wow...soooo...college...

God, where do I begin? Orientation.

moving in- man, mini-fridges are tuff to load up 3 flights of stairs. good thing I have a Logan. So, my roommate was pretty cool. Trey Powell twas his name. He liked irish rock, and fraternities. That night, we had a mixer. I got to actually meet a few people I had met online on facebook.com, the xanga killer, like Lauren. I also saw a few friends from high school. I caught up with chirag, but avoided amy. we weren't on good terms then. Saturday and sunday were kinda cool, just bringing more crap to the room and attending lectures.

What was awesome and life-changing was the weekend after orientation. We had a cookout on the lawn, with a performer. It was called the nick pags band. That night I danced with a few people, and I bought his LP. I immediately fell in love with the tracks. I would go on to buy his next album during spring break, and see him at the celtic crossing with Lauren, Jacky (one of my suitemates), and Sisa (who later became Jacky's GF).

The first semester proceeded with locomotion. I had an IDS/ ENG course. they were english classes, but one of them was kind of a philosophy/discussion course. The funny thing was it was taught by two engineers. This was cool. History was a snooze, but it was easy. Java was fun and easy. Dr. Olabe rocks! Calculus was a pain (and so calc II was as well).

I did many things for the first time the first semester-
been in a bar without any parental supervision
grind on a dance floor
dress as spock (halloween)
drive for over an hour
take union ave.
play guitar hero
played in a band
got whipped with belts by two drunk girls
and my favorite...Went on a real date!

I never missed any group of people so much during winter break...until now that is, but back to december

I left school on kind of a down note for winter break. I found out the girl I went out with didn't like me that much, but I was too busy worring about finals to let it get to me too badly. we're good friends now, so it's fine, I guess.

So, we came back, and our room had changed a lot since move in day. Trey lofted his bed and put in a recliner. we had become accustomed to dorm life. The high pressure showers no longer took us by surprise, we knew where everything was, and we all felt a little older. Not more mature...just older.

I'll put in another update a little later that covers 2nd semester.

We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy

Your guts (I hate em...) FREAKY!!!

it's been a while

Hmmm...I think I'll try something one of my friends from gulf shores did for her blog. just say what comes to mind.

here goes

first off...I'm freakin' out. Y'all know how my favorite band is Reel Big Fish, right? Well, they have this song called "Your Guts (I hate em...)". It's the last song off one of their albums. RBF tends to put a bonus track at the end that has a preview of another song. Well, there is a song after Your Guts, but there's about 8 minutes inbetween. and the last 4 are freaky as hell. played backwards it keeps repeating "Reel Big Fish is my favorite band" and the like, but they present it so freakishly that you can't help but get the chills listening. anyway, it creeped sammie and me right the hell out.

The church trip.

Boy, where to start...okay. so, sunday morning, at 5:30 AM, I left with 102 other kids on a trip to gulf shores, Alabama. I guess I'll just give a basic synopsis of the days

Sunday-
Lunch- Taco bell, eric got sick
Activity- Unpack
Dinner- BBQ @ live bait
Activity-beach
Worship
cabin time
Activity-Grocery store
Bed

Monday-
Breakfast- Eggs all around
Morning worship and Quiet time
Activity- swimming + hot tubbing
Lunch- Oven Pizza
Activity- more S + HT
Dinner- Take out Pizza in rooms

came home thursday. forgot to unload the dishwasher...

Weds and Tuesday were pretty much the same, but I'm not complaining. There was a water park and parasailing, but I really just didn't want to go.the beach was fun. Played some volleyball, surfed on my boogie board, tried to learn to skim board.

The big thing, though, was the worship. it was great every night. Go on a site and find "My savior my god" by aaron shust. amazing. I really had a personal experience with the music I don't feel comfy just spilling out here, so, anyway....yeah. We had this dude on the trip named shane. he was surrounded by a possy of stupid underclassmen ('08-'09) that would not quit buggin people. this dude shane is a butterball and he was hitting on 25 year old waitresses. he had no respect during worship, and even laughed at our youth pastor, Tom, who is an amazing person for giving me a scholarship to go. I am in his friggen debt, which leads me to another thing. next sunday, I'm leaving again on a work trip @ Fall Creek Falls, TN. I've catered to grown men on a work trip before, but not for 5 days, and not for graduated 7th and 8th graders. God help my patience, and if he won't, then may I be assigned to duty where I don't have to deal with them. I was a pretty managable 8ther, but I can't talk for today's kids. anyway. I'm spending today and tomorrow with a friend, and then...rest.

I got the car!!!

Friday- Licensed
Monday- License plate came in
Tuesday- I'm on the insurance policy
Wednesday- DROVE!!!

I'm driving like everyday now! It's great!
Wednesday- got logan, headed down to school to fix a few matters
Thursday- Picked up sam
Friday- Went to the school to retrieve a backpack for a friend, picked up jordan, Went to see MI3 (Awesome. your feet will not stay on the floor. lots of suspense), drove him home.
Today- went down to kroger for groceries, and later today, I'm gonna go pick up some Wendy's. w00t for fr0sty's!
Tomorrow- Church, probably.

All of that driving still didn't eat a quarter of my tank. I think my car's like 30 mpg. But, it's hard to gauge since I've only filled it twice. With the exception of prom, that car (Sheila) has been couped up in my garage. Anyway, I g2g clean. Just thought I'd let people know that I'm good to drive. *hiccup* No, really, man. I'm *hic* cool...No, I'm not as think as you drunk I *hic* am...

Senior Trip

Today was awesome. I spent the morning stressing in the back of amy's car, worrying if we were gonna get to school on time or not. we still had the time to get to Mcdonalds though, so it's all cool. I got to school, and started chatting with folk until we boarded the buses. on the way to Putt-Putt, I showed Jesse a few songs by reel big fish. she started laughing when she heard this little lyric:

She has a girlfriend now, she said, "Guys don't do no more for me"

As soon as we got there, I played mini-golf with Logan, Amy, Manuel (Speedy), Ben, and Chirag. I got my ass handed to me... from there, chirag and amy ditched us, so me, log, speed, and ben, decided to get some food. we couldn't get a whole pizza, and were determined not to let 45 minutes of standing go to waste, so we all just got pretzels and cheese dip. I managed to gross out stephen outside in ways I'd rather not describe right now. Needless to say, he'll never look at nachos the same way again. From there, we went to Go-Karts and I got to cut off some asshole who skipped me in line for about 2 laps. Karma's a bitch when you're go-karting

We couldn't get back in line because it was time to leave, but that didn't stop the 4 of us from bumper boating...my jeans were wet for a hour. hehe. When we got back, Me, Amy, Laura, and Chirag got smoothies, and I went home to find my sister baking cookies for chemistry. I got to eat some cookies, bake an oven pizza (Which I like more than Pizza Hut), eat it, start reading a new book, and relocate my mom's arm...don't ask, just pray for her.

But seriously. READ THIS!!! I might be getting a '99 Saturn SC2, with CD player, leather seats, sunroof, in dark green. It's got an engine in need of a tune up, and a funny muffler, but all of that can be fixed thanks to our mechanic friends for about 300 in parts. the car's going for $3000, taxes included, which is great for our budget. Please pray that this time, finally, I can get a car. I've come close so many times before and it's really starting to get to me.
